With Trustworthy, clients can keep track of all their tax returns, whether it's from the current year or previous years. The taxes category makes it easy to organize digital tax returns and all the associated digital documentation like W2s, receipts, 1099s, and more. 

If your client has an accountant who helped them with their returns, they can connect the accountant's contact information to provide clarity and transparency for anyone who needs to access the returns. It's a great way to keep everything in one place and make tax season a lot less stressful!

A few tips for maintaining records in the Taxes category:

  1. Keep track of information related to the current year’s return. As you fill out your tax information for the year, mark the return as “In Progress” and collect documentation and receipts over the course of the year to make tax preparation and filing a breeze.

  1. If your client doesn’t have a digital copy of their tax returns, they can quickly request the return from an accountant using a pre-filled email template from Trustworthy. You'll see this option when entering information for the first time.

  1. The Tax Jurisdiction can impact the file upload screen. If your jurisdiction is a state or province that requires both federal and state/provincial returns, you'll see options for uploading each.
