We are Trustworthy.
Nat, Dan & Daniel
As technologists and entrepreneurs, it’s in our nature to look at our lives and wonder, “Is this as good as it gets? Can it be better? Can technology make this part of our lives simpler?”
Hi, we’re Nat, Dan, and Daniel. We’re the founders of Trustworthy—a company formed to help your family (and ours) curate, manage, and securely share information.
The information of our lives
We live in the information age. Our information is important and #informationoverload is real. Today, we have more information than ever before, and the amount of information is only increasing.
This is a modern problem that didn’t exist for previous generations. Consider baby boomers. One job, one car, one house, one partner, 2.5 kids, and a pension plan. That’s all you needed. That and a pair of loafers. Life was simple. No 401(k)’s, no cryptocurrencies, no emails or SMS’s, and certainly no SPAM calls.
Today life is a little more “information-y”. Here are some of the things you and your family have to deal with:
Jobs have changed. The average person is now expected to have 10 jobs (growing to 12-15) with related benefits packages and retirement accounts.
Cars have changed, the average person buys 13 cars in their lifetime.
The average person will live in 11.3 homes.
Family structure has changed. 16% of children live in blended families and 39% of marriages end in divorce.
Money has changed. The average person now has 5.3 bank accounts.
Passwords are overwhelming. People have 150+ passwords on average.
People have 10 or more rewards or loyalty programs on average.
Photos have proliferated. We take 20.2 photos per day— that’s more than 7,300 a year.
We’re surrounded by information and there’s no armistice in sight. Your important information lives in a lot of different places, and is increasingly digital. How do you organize this information? The ubiquitous Excel spreadsheet?
In our initial research, many of the people we talked to built their own systems to manage their information. Families often used a combination of Excel or Google Sheets, Dropbox, 1Password, Evernote, file systems, photo apps and 3-ring binders or notebooks filled with important things. They are the life hackers who want something to help them manage and share their information (and anxiety). All of them feel their system is lacking and that there must be a better solution. We agree.
Trustworthy - The Family Operating System®
We imagine a world where your information is organized and you have easy access to it whenever you need it. It’s secure and shared with the people you love so that they have it when they need it.
Trustworthy reimagines antiquated estate management into the Family Operating System®, an online service that helps modern families curate, manage, and securely share their important information. With Trustworthy, families are delightfully organized and completely prepared for all of life's moments, now and across generations.
How will Trustworthy help your family?
Getting and staying organized can be tough. Just ask Marie Kondo. Trustworthy is a platform that makes it simple and fun. Here’s how:
Trustworthy guides you through a series of simple steps to connect, store, and organize your information. We provide you with recommendations of things to add to your account but ultimately you decide what information to securely store with Trustworthy.
Your progress is automatically saved as you go. You can take a break and come back at any time to continue.
We utilize the latest technology to make collecting your information easy and to automatically keep your information current.
We let you outsource tasks to your loved ones and the professionals you rely on (accountants, estate planners, wealth advisors, etc.) so they can help you fill in the blanks.
We use the information you give us in smart ways to make the experience delightful, provide more value to you and give you peace of mind.
The Trustworthy experience is beautifully designed so that your information looks and feels organized and is easy to retrieve when you need it.
Trustworthy is purpose-built. We don’t just store files; we organize your critical information and provide education and tips to make sure you are up-to-date.
We check in with you at regular intervals to see if your information has changed and we alert you when something needs your attention. We’re helpful like that.
In creating Trustworthy, we know that earning your trust by keeping your information secure and private is paramount. We have all seen what’s happened in recent times with the widespread sharing, monetization, and abuse of personal data (watch: The Social Dilemma). We know we can do better. This is why security and privacy are the foundations upon which we make every decision. As a company and as individuals, we promise the following:
Private. You and your attention are not the product. We won’t sell it or share it. Only you can do that.
Protected. Your information is encrypted with 256-bit encryption at all times. Read more about our security measures here.)
Yours. You are the sole arbiter of your family’s information. You can download it, delete it or close your account at any time. You have total control.
Who should use Trustworthy?
Trustworthy is for families who want to organize, easily access, and securely share their important information. Need access to your wife’s social security number, your passport number, your car’s VIN number, your child’s birth certificate, or the title deed to your home? With Trustworthy, all your information is available whenever and wherever you need it.
Trustworthy is also a guide for your loved ones in the event something happens to you. We’ve heard countless stories from widows and widowers who were unable to access bank accounts, track down life insurance policies, cancel accounts, and gain access to critical information after the death of a loved one. Being unable to find and access this information can be a source of significant stress and anxiety for your loved ones. With Trustworthy, they know what your wishes are and have a plan and instructions to navigate forward.
Trustworthy is a great fit for:
Newly married couples who want to share their lives together.
Divorced couples who need to separate their lives together.
Parents who want to provide for their children.
Your aging parents who are retired or retiring and making decisions about what comes next.
Folks who are terminally ill and want to put their house in order.
First responders and servicemen and women in the military who face life-threatening circumstances every day.
Families dealing with natural disasters, wildfires, floods, tornadoes, hurricanes, global pandemics and more.
Families who just want to be a little bit (or a lot) better prepared for everything life brings their way.
We are Trustworthy, and we’re here for you.
